Lincoln MK/LS—Return to Rear Wheel Drive

Lincoln MK/LS hybrid sports sedan—Lincoln's long-awaited return to the rear wheel drive luxury sector, this is the second of my Lincoln chops to use my modified naming convention. While I'd love to see a return to full names, I think the shorter alpha and alphanumeric nomenclature is hear to stay for the foreseeable future. This sedan not only recalls the last LS midsize sedan, it's a full "Bells & Whistles" Luxury Sedan, hence the MK/LS name. Rear wheel drive (with optional all wheel drive), hybrid-assisted drivetrains, electronically-assisted suicide doors, 22 inch wheels and a rounded chrome license plate surround that evokes the sparetire "hump" of classic Lincoln Continentals, signify this car's top-shelf status. Hybrid and Twin-Turbo versions would be available from the start, identically priced, as is Lincoln's recent pricing strategy.

B T W :
The fine art of using Photoshop® to create images of new cars, "chopping" as it's called online, can't be any better illustrated than this Lincoln. I started out with the image of the Lexus LF/A sports coupe, above. I don't think there was much left unchanged besides the angle of the windshield from the donor image, lol.

After selling rebadged General Motors trucks as its own, Isuzu has finally gone to the big garage in the sky, no longer selling cars or trucks in the North American market. The Isuzu i-Series pickup truck was one of its last models, a reskinned version of the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon twins. There were some variations between the models in trims and options, but all came as extended-cab or crew-cab pickups and shared the same mechanical hardware.

Interior :
Lots of midsize trucks seat up to five passengers. But the i-370 pickup does it with a sense of style, spaciousness and versatility that you’ll appreciate every time you drive. For starters, you’ve got your choice of configurations. If you’re part of the off-highway crowd, you’ll enjoy added capability of the top-of-the-line 4WD Crew Cab. If you’re partial to the open road, you will find either the 2WD Crew Cab or 2WD Extended Cab to your liking. And with ingenious little extras like an available 60/40 split-bench rear seat that folds flat and a 2-tier tailgate that expands your cargo options, the i-370 keeps winning you over time and time again.

Exterior :
Crew Cab or Extended Cab? There are no wrong answers, just one brain-teasing decision to be made. That’s because the i-370 pickup is such a capable performer regardless of which configuration you choose. If comfort, convenience and added passenger room is right up your alley, five adult passengers can travel in style in the spacious i-370 Crew Cab, available in both 2WD and 4WD. When you want a more workmanlike ratio of cargo bed capacity to passenger room, the 2WD Extended Cab delivers the goods and still has room for up to five. Either way, you’ve arrived at a logical conclusion – for mid-size pickup value, the i-370 is the smart  mind’s truck of choice.

Exterior :
With a wide track, long wheelbase and its wheels located at the outer edges of its body, the Holden Cruze sedan’s ‘four-door coupe’ styling delivers the presence of an upscale mid-size sedan. State of the art manufacturing processes ensures gaps are minimised and margins in the exterior design deliver high levels of quality, fit and finish.Cruze has been designed to appeal to drivers who value sophisticated design combined with sporty good looks.
Engine :
It has a 1.4-litre petrol engine that acts purely as a generator to charge the T-shaped batteries that run down the centre of the car and under the rear seat. It allows regular use for extended distances (there are some modes when the batteries are flat where the engine will provide some drive to the wheels for increased efficiency) and getting rid of "range anxiety" where drivers carefully study charge gauges of EVs to ensure they won't get stranded. How much fuel each uses is a moot point - with the Volt it depends on how it's used and for how long. The Prius uses an average of 3.9 litres per 100km according to the government test (in regular driving they use more) while the Volt uses no fuel for short trips. Once the batteries have been depleted the Volt uses about 5.9L/100km (40 miles per gallon) running on petrol during freeway driving compared with the Prius' US claim of about 4.9L/100km (48mpg).
