  The 2011 Scion tC still uses a 2.5 liter inline-4 engine, only the power got stronger this time and also features refinements such as rocker-roller lifters, dual-cam phasing, oil-jet cooling of the pistons and tumble controls valves. From 161 hp, the engine is boosted up to 180 hp at 6000 rpm and 173 lb-ft of torque at 4100 rpm. Via a six-speed automatic transmission, the engine can run the car to reach 60 mph in eight-second range. The EPA rates 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 26 combined.
