Yellow Goodness from 2006

Until I can carve out the time to finish a bunch of chops I've started, I thought I'd post another couple of "oldies and oddies." Above, my Lamborghini LMPV-002 high-performance minivan! I created this light-hearted effort in 2006 from a Murcielago. The name is a combination of the marque's classic LM002 V12 full off roader from the 1970s and the European MPV—Multi-People Mover.

Way before there was an Estoque four-door concept, I created this QV350 Sedan. Ever since I saw a photo of the Iso Fidia sedan in the late 1960s, I've loved the idea of an Italian supercar sedan. This was before the current "four-door coupe" fad began, also.

2013 Audi R8 PD G850 by Prior Design

Last year, Prior Design unveiled the PD GT650 for the Audi R8 sports car and this year improved upon that and came up with the GT860 package.

The aerodynamic package is made in high-quality Dura-Flex FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) that provides sufficient flexibility combined with high stability and allows for easy and inexpensive painting.

The package includes a new front bumper combined with a new front lip spoiler, front fenders, hood and new side skirts. For the rear, the tuner tossed in a new bumper, new diffuser, a new trunk spoiler and new rear widenings.

This package can be applied to all the Audi R8 models. Unfortunately, Prior Design decided to keep the price a secret and will only unveil it on request. However, considering that previous GT650 package was priced at $26,200 we expect a similar price for the new Audi R8 PD G850.

Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept

French automaker, Citroen, is expected to be in attendance at the Shanghai Auto Show. But it won’t be there to just bask in the ambience; it’s headed there with a concept car, specifically called the DS Wild Rubis Concept.

As with most teaser photos (and videos) these days, Citroen didn’t reveal a whole lot of information surrounding the DS Wild Rubis Concept. What it did give us are a couple of teasers of the concept.

The teaser video, which you can find after the jump, plays to Citroen’s chic and metropolitan appeal, complete with a black and white treatment and minimal glimpses of the Wild Rubis Concept.

The photo, on the other hand, gives us a clear look at the concept’s headlights, or at least just one of them. As you can see, the new light setup is different from previous concepts we’ve seen from Citroen, particularly from the slit-like lights from the Technospace Concept.

We wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if this is a prelude to a production model that will be available only in the Chinese market.

Regardless, expect to find out everything there is to know about the DS Wild Rubis Concept when it makes its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. In the meantime, click past the jump to see the teaser video of the concept.

2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT

Jaguar will be celebrating R performance brand’s 25th anniversary with the unveiling of the special-edition XKR-S GT at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The model has been designed as a track-focused, street-legal version of the XKR-S and will be limited to only 30 units: 25 for the U.S. and five for Canada.

The new GT special edition will feature a bespoke aerodynamic package made in carbon-fiber and including: a new front splitter, extended wheel arch spats, a rear diffuser and a large fixed rear wing. It will also feature Polaris White exterior paint with unique graphics and a Jaguar “R-S GT” logo on the hood. For the interior, the new XKR-S GT will combine Warm Charcoal paint with red accents.

The XKR-S GT will also add improved suspension and high-performance brakes with carbon-ceramic discs.

2014 Porsche Cayman

It was little more than logic that once Porsche dropped new-generation Boxster onto the market, the Cayman was the next one to be uncovered. Its world debut was made today at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show and sales on the American market will begin in the Spring of 2013 a starting price of $52,600 for the Cayman and $63,800 for the Cayman S. Prices do not include a destination charge of $950.

The problem is that the next-generation Cayman offers no surprises. The design language, interior and engine lineup, we have seen it all in the previously announced Boxster. When compared to the previous generation, the new Cayman is 66 lbs lighter and 15 percent more fuel efficient. Engine’s output has also been increased by 10 horsepower in the standard model and by 5 horsepower in the S version.

2013 BMW 3-Series "Fluidum" Art Car by Andy Reiben

Art cars have long had a history with BMW; after all, one of the most famous of these creatively designed models was made by Jeff Koons when he not only decked a BMW M3 GT2 in full artistic regalia but also proceeded to race it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans where it eventually crashed.

Now new BMW Art Car, one for the BMW 3-Series, was unveiled recently. This one, though, doesn’t have ties to BMW; instead, it’s the work of a BMW dealership from the Czech Republic in collaboration with local artist, Andy Reiben. It’s quite psychedelic, if we do say so ourselves.

We all know that graphic designs on a car’s body are what make an art car. Forget about engine upgrades; these models are all about aesthetic enhancements and while some have failed in capturing our imaginations, others have succeeded in doing so.

And as far as details are concerned, the work done on this 3-Series, which has been re-christened as "Fluidum,” is pretty spectacular. The first order of business was to wrap the 3-Series in matte vinyl. From there, Reiben generously sprayed copious amounts of paint before finalizing the colorful details with a brush to go with a glow-in-the-dark treatment.

Pretty sweet art car, if you ask us, something Reiben should be very proud of. Heck, if this car ended up for sale, we might take a crack at purchasing it.

2014 Volvo S60 Polestar

Finally, after many rumors and much speculation, the Volvo S60 Polestar Concept made its global debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show and we have all of the juicy details!

The concept is powered by a turbocharged, in-line six-cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver an un-Volvo-like 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque — a considerable increase over the car’s standard 300 ponies and 325 pound-feet of torque. These huge increases are thanks, in part, to a modified cylinder head and combustion chambers, intake manifold and air intake, a Garret 3171 turbocharger, and a Ferrita 3.5-inch stainless-steel exhaust system.

Next to this impressive engine, the concept will also be offered with a lowered, widened and reinforced chassis, a tuned Haldex all-wheel-drive system, and Öhlins suspension.

Volvo claims that all of the modifications will allow the S60 Polestar to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 186 mph. Those are mighty impressive numbers, so we’ll need to see if they become a reality.

We’ll get you more information and a full review once Volvo and Polestar release all of the vehicle’s information.

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR

The 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR is a sports car masquerading as a four-door sedan that was born out of the world of rally racing. The Evo still hangs onto its rally-racing roots while also being comfortable enough to use as a daily driver. The all-wheel drive GSR only gets better when the roads get slick as it is able to keep traction long after others would have spun out of control.

The 2013 model year will mark the end of an era for the Evolution, with it being the last in the line to use a traditional gas-powered turbocharged engine. That fairly thirsty little motor will be replaced by a hybrid or possibly all electric system.

The Evo is one of those dream cars that young men craved for years, thanks to its appearance in numerous car-racing games, but for a long time you couldn’t get one in the U.S. Fortunately, Mitsubishi eventually brought it into the U.S. and the dream car became a reality.

The GSR does lack some of the refinement of its more expensive rivals, but is still a great raw performance car.

2013 Mercedes C-Class "Edition C"

Mercedes has expanded its C-Class lineup with the addition of a new "Edition C" package that requires an additional €1,785 ($2,400 at the current exchange rates), or €1,011 ($1,300) if you opt for a C-Class Avantgarde. This upgrade can be applied to all sedan, coupe and station wagon variants.

On the exterior, the new Edition C adds an exclusive grille with high-gloss black louvers and chrome trim flanked by darkened headlamps; AMG-styled front apron, side sill panels and rear apron; and, of course, "Edition C" badge on the wing. There is also an exhaust system with chromed tailpipe trims, 170inch five-spoke alloy wheels in a high-gloss black on the sedan and estate models.

For the interior, the model adds sports seats in black ARTICO manmade leather and DINAMICA microfiber with two-tone (blue/alpaca grey) contrast stitching and dark-aluminum trim. Also added in is a three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel covered in Nappa leather with alpaca grey contrast stitching, a DINAMICA-microfiber-trimmed door center panels with alpaca grey contrast stitching and a gearshift knob featuring the same alpaca contrast stitching.

2013 Mercedes SL63 AMG V63RS-Export SL by Vath

German aftermarket company, Vath, is no stranger to building some of the most desirable Mercedes programs in the market. The company has a portfolio of these models, including programs for the A-Class, the C63 AMG and the SLS AMG, among others.

Not one to be content with just fitting useless components on the SL63 AMG, Vath opted to use parts that would improve the sports car’s aerodynamic capabilities, beginning with a carbon front spoiler, a new rear diffuser with fins and a large underbody, and a rear lip that was also made from high-class carbon. Rounding out the exterior mods is a set of 20-inch, three-part forged rims with titanium-colored spokes to go with a high-performance brake system that features a 390 mm (15.35-inch) brake discs at the front axle with six-piston brake calipers, as well as Castrol SRF racing brake fluid and brake line kit.

The interior of the SL63 AMG was treated to a fancy carbon-black finish, all of which was exclusively handmade in Germany. Among the components finished in carbon black include the middle console, the front ashtray cover and two-part door stripes. From there, Vath gave the SL63 AMG’s sport steering wheel a leather treatment, while also replacing the speedometer with one that goes all the way up to 224 mph and adding aluminum pedals.

Under the hood of the SL63 AMG, Vath worked with a reprogrammed 5.5-liter V-8 Biturbo engine that shot the output of the sports car up to 780 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, a staggering increase from the standard model’s 537-horsepower and 590 pound-feet figures.

2014 Maserati Ghibli

The first rumors about a new Maserati sedan placed under the current Quattroporte appeared at the beginning of 2010, but after a couple of months of heating up the air waves, the new car fell by the wayside while everyone made room for the new Audis, Ferraris, and such. Now, with just two weeks before the car’s official debut in Shanghai, Maserati has dropped the first details on its latest addition to the lineup.

Based on the same platform as the new generation Quattroporte, the new Ghibli sedan features a sportier character when compared to its big brother. Also, unlike previous rumors, for the new Ghibli, Maserati will only use two V-6 engines, while the V-8 engine used in the Quattroporte won’t be used.

Maserati revealed nothing on the car’s price just yet, but considering the new Ghibli will play a significant role in Maserati’s growth plan to sell 50,000 cars per year, we expect the price to be kept somewhere in the $70k area.

2013 Project SST-77 by Miguel Jimenez

Mexico is becoming quite the haven for lightweight sports cars. Over the years, we’ve seen numerous brands coming from the country introduce their respective models. But to say that classic sports cars were foreign to Mexico is a little short-sighted. After all, one of the most famous sports cars of the 60’s and 70’s was the Renault Denalpin, which can trace its roots to Mexico.

All that said, there appears to be serious intention coming from some businessmen in Mexico to build a new sports car, called the SST-77.

The renderings of the SST-77 pretty much give away what Mexican businessman, Miguel Jimenez, wants to do with this sports car. It’s a re-imagined Alpine that was designed along the same veins of the original Alpine-110 with some pretty striking details, including the sweptback headlights, circular fog lights and those wide-open air intakes.

According to Autoblog Mexico, the SST-77 is being prepared to take the form of a lightweight sports car that will be made out of fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon fiber. On top of that, it will be built on a platform that will be created in Sahagun City, Mexico, which, incidentally is the same birthplace of the original Dinalpin. We’re not sure if there’s a rationale behind the decision to build the car in that location or it’s plainly coincidence.

2016 BMW X1 EV

Today must have been national test day for electric cars. Shortly after catching the R8 E-tron testing in the cold, our spy photographers caught a very interesting model testing. At a first look it appears you are looking at a standard BMW X1, but you are actually looking at an all-electric X1.

As you can see from the spy shots the prototype features no exhaust pipes and there are also some Hybrid stickers – an obvious attempt at subterfuge. Our spy photographers lurked around long enough to confirm that this is an EV, as when it finally took off, there was not a peep from a gasoline engine.

We are not too sure if this means that the company is developing an electric version of the X1 or if it is simply testing the technology for other models. Still, considering that BMW and Toyota have recently signed an agreement and that Toyota already offers an electric version of the RAV4, you shouldn’t be too surprised to see something similar from BMW.

2013 Dodge Dart Rallycross Car

Even though it is new to the market, the Dodge Dart has already made its rally debut in the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship. For the 2013 racing season, this hopped-up Dart will once again return to the track with Travis Pastrana behind the wheel. Last year, the Dart scored its first victory in the fourth race of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Dodge hopes that the same success will also repeat this year and has sent two Dart racing cars in the competition. Unlike the standard Dart, the Dart Rallycross Car delivers a total of about 600 horsepower through an all-wheel-drive system. With the extra 416 horsepower, the new Dart Rallycross Car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 2 seconds.

The new Dodge Dart Rallycross Car will be driven in the season opener on April 21st in Brazil.

2015 Audi A5

The Audi A5 was initially released in 2008 and the only update it has received since was in the 2012 model year. It now appears that BMW’s decision to offer a 4 Series Coupe and Convertible has forced Audi into also developing a new-generation A5. The new A5 Coupe will arrive in 2015 and it will be followed by a Convertible version six months later.

First details on the second-generation Audi A5 suggest the model will be put on a strict diet, as Audi hopes to shave a total of 220 pounds from the car’s weight. This move will also help reduce the car’s fuel consumption, without needing to downsize engines to a 1.4-liter level.

In order to obtain this drop in weight, Audi will use lighter engine ancillaries, hollow-spoke wheels and aluminum panels. Under the hood, Audi will install the same engine lineup found in the current generation, but with an improved output level. For the S5, the V-6 will deliver a total of 340 horsepower - up from the current 328 horsepower, while the RS5 will drop the current V-8 in a favor of a new twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with an output of 475 horsepower. It is also rumored that the next A5 will be offered with an electric range for the first time.

2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition

When Ford unveiled the F-150 SVT Raptorin 2010, it made a machine that few could have ever imagined. This pickup was not only a performer on the road, like its SVT Lightning predecessor, but it was also extremely capable off of the beaten path. Since its debut, we have seen a few updates, with the biggest being the dropping of the 5.4-liter base engine in favor of a 411-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8.

Now with 2014 model year vehicles rolling out, we have been waiting to see what the new SVT Raptor has to offer. Well, the wait is officially over, as Ford has just revealed the 2014 Raptor lineup with the unveiling of the 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition yesterday during the Motor Press Guild Luncheon.

The big question mark is whether the 2014 model year will include any changes or if the SVT Raptor will retain its current form, plus this special edition.

2013 Lamborghini Aventador by Al & Eds Autosound

The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the most heavily tuned supercars in the market and rightfully so.

One aftermarket company that has made waves recently for its projects is Al & Eds Autosound. Though not as famously known as other companies, Al & Eds has produced a list of fine programs for vehicles like the Lamborghini Murcielago, the Porsche Panamera Turbo, and the Aston Martin DBS Volante.

Recently, Al & Eds took a crack at the Aventador, giving it a new aero kit and a modest performance tune that gives the mighty Italian supercar a little extra juice. The first trick was to give the Aventador a new body kit, which Al & Eds succeeded in doing with new body panels made from carbon fiber. A larger apron with bigger air inlets was installed, as was a new front lip with its own daytime driving lights.

There are also new front wings, a new hood with air inlets, a new carbon-fiber diffuser that is integrated into the new carbon-fiber rear apron, and a carbon-fiber rear wing.

After doing all that, Al & Eds coated the carbon-fiber panels with a bright orange paint, thus establishing the wicked look of this raging bull. From there, the work went to the supercar’s 6.5-liter V-12 engine, which was tuned to produce 754 horsepower, an increase of 54 ponies from the standard 700-horsepower output of the Aventador.

With those upgrades in tow, it wouldn’t surprise us the least if this tuned Lambo can clock a top speed of over 220 mph.

2013 Alpine A450

Rumors have been floating recently that the new cooperation between Alpine and Caterham will give birth to a new sports car. While that has surely driven intrigue into this still-to-be-named model, it’s still part of the not-so-distant future.

What is recent, though, is Alpine’s apparent return to 24-hour racing and it’s got quite a racecar in its fold ready to take on all comers. Called the A450, the race car is expected to bring the extra excitement to endurance racing at the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours and this year’s European Le Mans Series (ELMS). The car will be raced by the 24-year-old Nelson Panciatici and 29-year-old Pierre Ragues. This marks Alpine’s return to the world of motorsport after an absence of 35 years.

The new Alpine A450 will be powered by a Nissan-sourced V-8 engine that delivers a total of 500 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed sequential X-Trac gearbox. With a total weight of just 1984 pounds, the new race car will hit a pretty impressive top speed of 205 mph.

Speaking of impressive, have a look at the A450; it’s all that and then a little more. The brand’s striking blue and orange color combination harkens back to the days of the Alpine-Renault A442B that raced the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1978. If for nothing else, it’s a fitting tribute to the company’s racing history while also serving a reminder to the rest of the field that Alpine is back and ready to take some names.

2013 Nissan Friend-Me Concept

Press days for the 2013 New York Auto Show are over, so now it’s time to move our attention to the next show on the docket: Auto Shanghai 2013 set to start on April 20. In the Big Apple, Nissan unveiled the hybrid version for the Nissan Pathfinder and the company will bring an all-new concept car called Friend-ME to China.

All the information we have on the new concept up to this point is a teaser image that reveals an innovative set of headlights and Nissan’s announcement that the new Friend-ME will feature a unique center console that allows "Four Seats, One Mind Connectivity" - equal information sharing among all aboard.

According to Nissan, the new Friend-ME is "designed for the vibrant, young generation in China, one of most exciting segments in the fastest-growing automobile markets in the world."

Alongside the new Friend-ME concept, Nissan will also display 20 new models in Shanghai.

2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is very different from the norm for Mercedes. Instead of the big V-8s featured across the network, this little car hums along silently on batteries driving its front wheels. It will be the first all-electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz, and the first of any B-Class to cross the pond. This matches the latest company strategy to fatten the range of models from all sides.

Most of the systems that charge and run the little B-Class will be shared with its bright-yellow sibling: the upcoming SLS AMG Coupe E-Cell. Both systems are part of a deep tech partnership between Mercedes parent company Daimler and Tesla. Fruit from this sharing agreement has been limited to date, and arguably, some of the most sour fruit on the branch via the Smart ED. That car ran Tesla Roadster parts, but downsized. The resulting “car” was appallingly slow. Tesla didn’t seem to be sharing the good, M5-beating stuff yet.

This is set to change when the B-Class Electric Drive hits U.S. showrooms in January 2014. The model will arrive in dealers first before a limited roll-out in Europe.

As Mercedes’ first viable EV, the B-Class Electric is a complete package that excels in its mission of effortless city efficiency plus Mercedes-levels safety, durability, luxury and ownership experience.

2013 Bugatti Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition

A few days ago, Bugatti dropped a teaser image of what we thought would be the company’s long-rumored 1,600-horsepower Bugatti SuperVeyron. However, it looks like the teaser image was in fact for a special Veyron Vitesse WRC Limited Edition built to celebrate the company’s latest record.

A Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse with Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu behind the wheel scored a new record for the company: it managed to hit a top speed of 254.04 mph. The result was achieved at the Volkswagen Group’s proving grounds in Ehra-Lessien and was officially confirmed by German organization for Technical Inspection and Certification TÜV.

The special edition Veyron Vitesse WRC will be limited to only eight units and will be priced at €1.99 million (or $2.6 million at the current exchange rates).

2013 Infiniti FX37

The 2013 Infinity FX37 has something of an identity problem. The FX35 was renamed to the FX37 and in 2014 it will be called the QX70. The reason for the 37’s name change is the engine displacement increased from 3.5-liters to 3.7-liters.

To make the identity issue worse the FX37’s big brother, the FX50, will also become part of the QX70 lineup. The FX50 is currently, powered by a V-8 engine, but this is likely to change next year in favor of a turbocharged V-6.

With the 37’s larger engine option the Japanese automaker is attempting to further increase the performance appeal of the luxury vehicle. This results in a focused vehicle that handles well when driven quickly.

The luxury crossover had a facelift that debuted in the 2012 model, so for 2013 the styling remains the same.

It also provides a luxury interior with plenty of leather touches. Interior parts are of high quality materials as one would expect in a luxury vehicle.

2013 BMW 5-Series Exclusive Sport Edition

Everybody’s producing exclusive models in Japan these days. A few days after Volkswagen introduced the Golf Erste Edition in the Land of the Rising Sun, fellow German automaker BMW is set to have its own limited-run, Japan-exclusive model.

It’s called the 5-Series Executive Sport Edition and as you can tell, it’s been tagged as an exclusive model by BMW because of the multitude of new features added to make it stand out from the rest of the 5-Series models out there.

Only 300 models of the 5-Series Executive Sport Edition will be made. Unfortunately, none of them will hit U.S. shores, so the closest thing we can come to looking at them is through the photos below.

That being said, it’s not like we’re missing a whole lot. It’s still a 5-Series, which is available in our shores, albeit with a few added goodies. But in the end, we won’t be losing a whole lot of sleep knowing that this model will only be available from halfway around the world.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS

After some subtle teasing, GM unveiled the 2014 Camaro SS on Live with Kelly & Michael instead of at the New York Auto Show. Granted, the SS did make its way to the NYIAS, but it was overshadowed by the unveiling of the all-new Z/28.

The updates to the Camaro SS are very limited, but nonetheless important. The main architecture of the new Camaro SS remain the same, but the changeable components, like the front fascia, hood, rear fascia and bumper cover are all completely different.

This mid-generation facelift is definitely a welcome sight, as the Camaro’s retro styling was starting to get a little long in the tooth and we need some sort of springboard to prepare us for the upcoming overhaul. We expect this revised look to only last for a few years – one to three years at the most – before Chevy unveils the all-new Camaro. So, enjoy this new look while you can.On the outside, the 2014 Camaro SS looks pretty similar to the 2013 Camaro SS at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, this facelift is far more comprehensive than expected.

Up front, one of the biggest changes is the deletion of the single nostril in favor of a louvered heat extractor that sits atop the raised center section of the hood. This not only gives the Camaro a meaner look, but also – possibly unintentionally – pays tribute to the dual faux louvers on the mid-1980’s Z/28’s hood. You know, those damn things that would break off in the car wash after 5 to 10 years.

Another change up front is the fascia itself. The grille is now thinner and only features vertical bars, as opposed to the horizontal and vertical bars on the 2013 model. Because of the shrunken grille, the headlights are also squintier and feature wider lenses that cover the headlight and turn signals, giving the Camaro a sinister stare. This shorter grille also extends the Camaro’s nose, and creates a more rounded appearance.

The front, lower skirt is significantly modified, as the 2014 Camaro’s lower air intake is about two or three times larger than the 2013 model’s intake. Additionally, the fog lights now set in larger openings, making them appear to float on the outer edges of the skirt.

Around the back of the Camaro there are some pretty big changes too. The biggest and most shocking of the changes are the new taillights, as Chevy opted to eliminate the two-piece, squared-off circle taillights in favor of thinner, one-piece units that also include the backup lights. Chevy also gave the back end a more pronounced trunk-lid spoiler that is more separated from the trunk than last year’s spoiler. Just below the spoiler is the LED center, high-mounted brake light, which was on the rear package shelf package shelf last year.

The back end is capped off with a significantly larger rear bumper insert that now travels about halfway up the license plate, and a smoother bumper cover.

So, why did Chevy make all of these changes just for a “mild” face lift? The answer is very simple; they are preparing buyers for the new Camaro that is set to hit the stage sometime in the next few years with a completely redesigned and more aerodynamic body.

2013 Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S

Aston Martin has revealed today the first details on a Hybrid Hydrogen-powered Rapide S that will be raced at the 41st ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring next month.

The model will be based on the standard four-door sedan and will become the first zero CO2 emissions sports car to complete a race-pace lap at the Nürburgring 24-hour race.

The model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine and can be run on pure gasoline, pure gaseous hydrogen or a combination of the two. In pure hydrogen mode, Aston Martin will race the Nordschleife while emitting just water.

The new Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S features a special Hybrid Hydrogen system that includes a hydrogen fuel rail, storage tanks and proprietary engine management system. The system includes four ultra-high-strength carbon-fiber tanks that can hold 7.7 pounds of hydrogen stored at a 350-bar pressure

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

The launch of the revised 2014 Chevrolet Camaro also marked the return of the Z/28 nomenclature. The Z/28 name was initially used back in 1967 when a special Camaro was designed to compete in the Sports Car Club of America’s Trans-Am 2 class. Now, for the 2014 model year, the Z/28 nomenclature is applied to the most capable and fastest Camaro currently available on the market.

The new Camaro Z/28 was not built to compete in a specific race series, but it features track-focused capabilities. When compared to the ZL1, it is significantly lighter and, even though it is no more powerful, it is around three seconds faster around Chevy’s testing track than the Camaro ZL1. Also, as a tribute to the original Camaro Z/28, the new generation is only being offered with a manual gearbox.

Alfa Romeo 4C Brochure Leaks Online

The ordering brochure for the new Alfa Romeo 4C has leaked online, revealing more details on the recently announced sports car and the recently announced Launch Edition. This leaked brochure reveals for the first time the horsepower and torque curve, tire specifications and images of the TFT cluster in all models.

Standard models will come with cloth seats, radio and halogen headlights, while LED lights are offered as an alternative. The Launch Edition will only be offered in Carrara White and Rosso Alfa, and will be limited to only 500 units. This special edition will feature carbon-fiber insertions on the headlamp finishing and mirror covers. It will also be offered with alloy wheels sized 18 inches up front and 19 inches at the rear, and red brake calipers. Carbon fiber will also be used on the interior for the instrument cluster cover and racing steering wheel, dashboard insert and gear buttons.

Both standard and Launch Edition will be powered by a four-cylinder 1,750 cc turbocharged engine that delivers an output of 240 horsepower. The 4C goes up to a top speed of 160 mph and hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds. This means that its performance will far exceed what we initially thought it would.

2014 Acura MDX

As we all know, the Acura MDX model that we saw in Detroit was only a prototype that gave prospective buyers "a strong indication of the styling and design direction for the third generation." Well, now that the 2013 New York Auto Show is upon us, the 2014 MDX has officially been unveiled in full-production form.

In all honesty, the prototype and the production models are very similar, but Acura basically just toned down the extreme stuff. Things like the LED bars on the front and rear bumpers are nixed. Additionally, Acura gave the front skirt a more traditional look; as opposed to the futuristic treatment it received in the prototype. From the side, the prototype and the production models are nearly indistinguishable, as they both carry almost the identical profile and the rims are identical.

One thing that we’re sure every Acura fan has been waiting for is the revealing of the new model’s interior. And Acura delivered the goods today.

UPDATE 3/29/2013: Acura has finally unveiled the production MDX at the New York Auto Show. Plus nearly all of the details have been revealed.

2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra

Corvette C7 4-door Corsa, Second Version

This was actually the first C7 4-door I created, but I posted the second, more refined, version first. This rendering shows the rear 3/4 view and the cool sliding glass roof/rear window I created for it. The glass panels are approximately 9-10 inches wide from windshield header to rear spoiler and at the push of a button would slide back over themselves, resting on top of each other, leaving the entire interior open to the sun- or moonlight.
